Have no idea what to expect at the baby’s first appointment?

Maybe you’re feeling anxious and nervous about what’s to come since it’s your first time.

Don’t worry! Here are some ideas of procedures and things to expect during your first visit.

They will check the baby’s weight, height, and head circumference.
They will check the baby from head to toe, including the neck and collar bone, and the top of the head to check the soft spot, hips, reflexes, pulse, ears and genitalia.
They will ask questions about sleeping, feeding, and the number of soiled diapers (so be sure to keep track!)

An important thing to keep in mind is that baby should have their first appointment 3-5 days after they give birth.
