How much Water Intake is Enough

This year’s summer has recorded the highest temperatures in various countries across the world. In a situation like this where global warming keeps hitting us with severe heat, one must always stay healthy and hydrated. However, the question arises: how much water daily is really enough?

Since there is no one solution that works for everyone, this is a challenging topic to answer. Age, amount of exercise, and climate are just a few of the many variables that impact how much water one should consume.

Here’s a small guide that should help you decide how much water intake is perfect for your child:

  1.  >6 months: only milk
  2. 6-9 months: 2 to 4 ounces of water
  3. 12 months: 3 to 4 ounces of water several times
  4.  1-3 years: 32 ounces
  5.  Older than 5: 64 ounces of water

Apart from this, older kids can also be offered ORS and other electrolyte or fruit juices to amp up their energies during this scorching summer. Hydration is essential to staying fit and water is the carrier of life.
